Meet the board members:

John Reimer--President  Serving NCDPA Since 1996

John Reimer, President of NCDPA, has been a part of the North Carolina Dropout Prevention Association since 1996.  His interests in keeping kids in school began when he first worked with an alternative high school in his native Colorado.  Designing SAT and ACT test taking programs for these students proved that at risk youth don’t need to dropout of school—we need to find ways to keep them in school.  After earning Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Northern Colorado and counselor certification from Colorado State University, Mr. Reimer has served as a teacher, guidance counselor and principal K-12.  He came to North Carolina after creating and building an educational consulting firm that specialized in college planning and assisting at risk students and their families in the quest to stay in school.  Mr. Reimer has served on the NCDPA Board since 2000 and has been President since 2002.  He is currently an Assistant Principal in Caswell County and the county’s Dropout Prevention Coordinator.  You may reach him at: jreimer@ncdpa.com
